Does fluorescence make a difference with Abutments?
The answer is that I don't know yet... just messing around with some fluorescent infiltration with the abutments... can get the abutment to really fluoresce like natural dentin. If you use a translucent veneering structure like e.max HT... You may get a more vital restoration. Interesting stuff!

What blocks are you using for the abutments? Â If it is the old TZI are you wetting milling and then letting dry before infiltrating?

These are the old inCoris Meso blocks. The top one was the .5 (white) that was infiltrated with the A2 Vita Liquids on the cervical and the Zircon Zahn Fluorescent infiltration on the body. The bottom was the F2 shade with no infiltration. They were run on the wet cycle.

Both him and Mclaren have spoken about it.
I'm also currently testing placing this infiltration on the intaglio of all zirconia restorations to get them to internally flouresce.
Or.. you could just add it to the intaglio of the restoration to simulate dentin fluorescence on all the restorations :)Â Brain wheels are turning...
In your first slide the F0.5 body looks the same overall shade as F2.0 below it. Does the Fluorescence infiltration also change the colour of the F0.5? Or is it just the illusion of photography.
HT plus F2.0 has been my go to combination for years. I really like the (your?) idea of this infiltration. Is it just a matter of paint on dryish zirconia and into the furnace, or do you dry out the zirconia fully first (e.g. 10 mins in an open CS furnace).

There is a2 on the cervical and the Flouro in the body does change the shade a bit. I always used to use the F2... now I'm moving toward the F0.5 with infiltration.
I run them in the long (wet) speedfire program with the drying cycle.
On a related note...I've always meant to ask Ivoclar...do you happen to know if there's any technical reason why we don't have a fluorescent glaze for Emax when do have one for Empress?

Ivoclar has fluorescent glaze, Patterson does not have. Gregory
The Spray Glaze from Indenco has fluorescence. Yes Patterson has it.
It is called, Indenco Fluorescent Spray Glaze. It will work with all your fired materials, Emax, Empress, Celtra Duo, Zirconia, etc. It has a broad, low fusing firing range of 730 C to 850 C.
The fluorescence helps maintain better shade continuity between the restoration and the natural tooth as the patient is exposed to different lighting conditions and the UV rays change.
