When a colleague asks to borrow e.max blocks...
Another Cerec doctor asked me to borrow some blocks because I tend to store a fair amount of shades and the doctor needed a B1. To be fair the doctor did ask what shade I wanted in return in which I said it didn't matter- so what do I get back... C4. I've been doing Cerec for almost 10 years and I didn't know C4 was a choice! Today was my day though and I finally got use them!!! Yay!!!!
e.max crowns #7 & #10 using C4 HT block with Variolink Esthetic cement- shade: warm. E.max stain colors are sunset, cream and gray.

Reminds of this one time I was doing a basic training, and the guy said that was his plan to limit expense from stocking up on blocks. He was an previous Red Cammer so he knew everything...his gameplan was to "Just stock A1 and stain it down"
Great job Kris
Nice case! Now you just have to use that D3 block that another doc returned to you instead of returning an A1....
very nice, should have submitted to us as a "guess which ones" nobody would have gotten it. want my B 1"s? haven't used one yet but lots of C4 in my practice,
Cristine, what Level of the hands on did u attend in order to do this ?? Level 5??
It really looks good
Kristine,
What stains did you use? I'm not there yet but getting closer, I assume luster! Beautiful match!
Carrie
Reynaldo- I learned a lot at Level 4. It's a great course! Also just watching the posts, pay attention to when Mike Skramstead will photoshop cases. That's when I learn the most... And then practice practice practice! I do a lot of anteriors, take photos and then learn from every single case.
Good luck!!
And thank you for all of the wonderful comments! We have a fun job :) These are my favorite days and cases.
Lol!!! I'm rolling right now....I had to stop our show to let her know you photoshopped her case!
You just couldn't resist!! It's like 1am there! Don't you sleep?
Thanks for keeping me on my toes... Someday I'll get there :)
I always make time for you Kris!
Love #7... It's beautiful.
#10 was more difficult due to space, but turned out a bit bulky with ought the same anatomy and mesial line angle.
Beautiful case Kristine! Did you crystalize first prior to adding stain or did you eyeball it in the purple phase. How long did this take ? Did you have to do any contouring of the crown post-mill or it was good to go right out of the mill?
Thanks Karen! I always try to put stain and glaze on in purple faze to save time. If it's wrong, then I polish it off and start over and no time is lost. This appointment took me a little under 2 hours from start to finish. For anteriors, I always contour out of the mill. The milling unit just can't quite get those details that we can with a handpiece. As you can see from Mike's beautiful photoshop work I could have done more on #10. I put a lot of color on that one so my glaze is thick. Next time...
Thank you Mike- as always you teach me a lot. Can I send you my selfies to photoshop too for Facebook??

Great job Kris! I like how Dan chimes in on all your cases =). What a good guy.
She had lost a crown and the white that you see in the before picture was IRM of all things. I removed the IRM and left the substructure as it's natural shade. Her teeth were dark enough that I didn't worry about blocking out.
When I do use opaquers though I use Cosmedent and 90% of the time it's pink opaquer. Pink is great for blocking out grey and black.
