to watch the full version of this video plus hundreds more. Subscribe TodayI don't want to be a jerk, but watching this video I do not see crown lengthening. I see gingival troughtng. I do not see anything that looks like bone removal which is what is supposed to be accomplished during crown lengthening and is what is easily and accurately done with the Lightwalker laser or the Waterlase. Correct me if I am wrong and bone removal was accomplished to gain proper biologic width.
Looks to me at the end they show that there is a 3mm sulcus after reduction of the gingiva. It isn't clear exactly how that occured but I'm not real familiar with how that laser functions. Assuming there was bone removed and a good biologic width at the end then it looks like a successful procedure to me Chuck.

Somehow just saw this now. You are not being a jerk. I tend to be a skeptical person as well. If you listen to the narration, you are walked through the case and when bone removal is described that is exactly what is happening. I had used the Lightwalker that you mentioned in your post prior to using Solea so I understand you're confusion as doing it with the Lightwalker is far less elegant, slower, bloodier and requires a tip. Please feel free to follow up with any more questions. Thanks.
Brian,
Actually at the end there is no sulcus until healing occurs. What is important is that the osseous Crest is 2 mm from the restorative margin, and once healed, a 1 mm sulcus was present.

Josh
The best part of this thread is that this took 3.77 years to gain traction. Sounds like me with some projects around the house.
