Meena Barsoum This is a case I completed without a waxup, restoring #8,9. With any anterior case, getting the midline right is the biggest challenge. Avoiding a cant in either direction, and achieving perfect symmetry is not easy without a diagnostic waxup or a nice pre-op condition to biocopy.
The patient presented with #8,9, failing resins and a diastema that he would like closed.
The teeth were prepared and imaged, with no waxup or biocopy to rely on. I used the biojaw tools to pre-position the teeth and have them recalculate unadapted to maintain the contours and positioning. First, choose the morphology you want. Biogeneric is usually ok, but in this case I wanted something a little more square.
Then, use the move and scale tool to position the teeth exactly where you want them.
Then, make sure you uncheck "adapted proposal". When you return to the design phase, your initial proposal will be most of the way there. Then it's simple adjusting of the contours and anatomy.
These were milled from A1-MT e.max, which is becoming my go-to material for anteriors. We bonded these with Variolink esthetic neutral.
