The more I sit here and look at the Omnicam, the more it amazes me how revolutionary this whole process is. Being able to take a camera, put it in the patients mouth and have the ability to have a full color 3D model show up just blows me away. We at cerecdoctors.com are doing a Mentor field trip to the IDS next year- taking 60 mentors and their spouses to Germany, Switzerland and Austria to visit some of our dental partners.
I personally cannot wait to see what future advancements we will see from Sirona as they build up on the Omnicam platform. As you can see from the image below- the ability to scan large portions of the patients mouth is amazing. Can you imagine taking a scan like this and recording functional movements, recording excursive patterns? Being able to record the tooth position in relation to the size and shape of the face? The color rendition from the camera and the detail captured is second to none.
