Rich Rosenblatt Until the masses receive their 4.2 software, I wanted to show a quick video that I made on imaging. The key to consistent images and proposals in the 4.0 software with the omnicam is to begin and end imaging on the occlusal surface so you are looking down the long axis of the tooth. Some people like to start at the pre molars and go backward. I tend to start in the posterior and move to the canine and then roll the camera. When I train doctors on how to properly use the camera, people tend to move very slowly with it. This is not really necessary. Take a look at this quick video of me imaging the opposing arch of a case I'm about to do. It takes me just under 30 seconds to be able to capture all the necessary data of the opposing arch. Start and end on the occlusal surface. Roll to the buccal and image all buccal data. I will roll the camera over the occlusal table of the posterior molar and then work my way to the lingual and move toward the canine. I then finish my imaging on the occlusal looking down the long axis. If you get into the habit of this, it will make acquiring your data easier and make your proposals more consistent.
